Gimp 1.2.3 or 1.3.8 and perl 5.8.0

Hi! I recently upgraded to Perl 5.8.0 and perlotine is crashing on me. This is Gimp 1.2.3 on Linux. Is perlotine compatible with Perl 5.8.0? I'm rebuilding Gimp 1.2.3 now to see if that helps.

Also, does anyone know if Gimp 1.3.8 is compatible with Perl 5.8.0?
