GIMP on GNOME 2.0

I hope someone out there can help me with this problem. I recently moved from using Gimp 1.2 on GNOME 1.4 on Solaris to using Gimp 1.2 on GNOME 2.0 on Solaris. Since that I move I have been experiencing the following problems:

* When I take a screenshot using File > Acquire > Screen Shot, I get the following error message: "can't open file as XWD file"
* When I try to open a JPEG or TIFF I get: "Plug-In crashed: "jpeg"
(/opt/gnome-1.4/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-ins/jpeg) I don't get this message when I try to open a PNG.

Any suggestions much appreciated, Eugene
