Gamma correction in GUI?

Greetings!

I would like to perform gamma correction on my scans.

-) I can't find that function in the gimp menus or the help file. Is it hiding somewhere?

-) I checked the Gimp Plugin Registry, but didn't find anything there.

-) I checked the source code and gamma is used as an argument to several routines, but I could not find anyplace where it was brought up to the GUI level.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Bob Washburne

Gamma correction in GUI?

rcwash3@comcast.net (2002-05-22 at 1038.41 -0400):

I would like to perform gamma correction on my scans.

For those operations use the Curves or Levels tools, in / Image / Colors. Gamma is in the Levels tool, the middle number of top row (0, 1.0, 255; the 1.0), but both tools are good for adjusting colours.
