Blank image after applying gmic cartoon filter

I have been trying to use both the gimp and gmic plug in cartoon filter and after applying the image changes to a black image of the original image.

I have no idea what is causing this issue, please help.

I'm new to gimp and have been using mobile apps to create designs for tshirts however they leave slot to be desired other than ease of use.
