Saving the position of windows

Can anyone point me to the code in Gimp that deals with saving the locations of the tool windows (the toolbar, the layers window and so on) and restoring them on the next startup? I'm developing an application in Gtk and this seems to be quite hard to do - which signals to store the location on, when to set the location and so on.
