Pasting © ® Symbols

I am still trying to paste the © and ® symbols into GIMP.

I found the Gnome Character Map application and selected a symbol and copied it. It would then paste into a text editor but not into GIMP. Maybe I don't have GIMP configured correctly to allow pasting from another program. Any ideas on that one?

Does anyone have fonts that will show © and ® symbols on the GDYN character map? None of the fonts I have are showing those.

Thanks again,

Matt

I use some of the Microsoft Web Core fonts (truetypes) on my linux box and most of them contain the (C) and (R) symbols. The standard font Helvetica has it too.

Which version of gimp are you using?
