Does anyone know how to insert the © and ® symbols into a Gimp image?

I have tried using the Text Tool and then typing Alt+0169 and Alt+0174 but no results.

Also, what are the best sources for free fonts for Gimp? I have the fonts that come with Red Hat Linux 8 plus another batch of free fonts that are public domain that I found out about through the Gimp website.

Thank you,

Matt

Just use the GDynText plugin. In one of its toolbars you find a icon "Abc" that opens a charmap window.

I open a text editor (nedit in my case), enter the special character there, select it and right-click to pste it into the GIMP.

I found the character map in GDYN but none of the fonts had an © or ® symbol.

I found a Gnome Character Map application with the symbols and was able to select and paste them into a text editor and into OpenOffice Writer but when I tried to paste them into a new GIMP image nothing pasted.

Any ideas?

Thanks again,

Matt
