Gimp printing under Windows XP

Hello,

I've downloaded Gimp v 1.2.4 for use on office computer: a Compaq Computer with a Windows XP OS. The printer I'm using is an Epson Photo Stylus 890. Everything seems to work fine except that I cannot print to this printer via Gimp. The print request just seems to die silently.

Has anyone had a similiar experience? Please share your solution. I like using Gimp but will have to change if I can't get this problem resolved.
