rounded rectangle

what is the preferred, easiest or fastest way to draw a rounded rectangle in gimp - i am currently using version 1.3.9 if that matters.

i don't want smooth edges (like smooth selection), but the corners have to be rounded, because i need to create some rounded widgets.

Try Script Fu rounding edge (in German: Abrunden) maybe it suits for the purpose your question is at.
