install problem

install problem

i don't know if i can email this addres but it's the only addres i saw that could be useful on the gimp home page, but i downloaded gimp through cnet.com and when i try and open the 10.7 meg file it wants to associate the file to a program ( or in other words a program to open it with). is this a result of an incomplete file, or maybe a mac version, or could the problem just be that i need to open it with an install prgram? Thank you for you time.
