How to build gimp 2.3.6 for windows

I am looking to try gimp 2.3.6 for windows but i cannot find any binaries. Where can i find instructions to build one pls.

I have both visuak studio.net and visual c++ 2005 express edition installed. What are the instructions please.

Though i'm linux user, i'm pretty sure compiling source would do just fine for wins too.

you can safely follow the instructions at http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/HowToCompileGimp/MicrosoftWindows. You just need to
modify the supplied CompileGimp.sh to download the correct libraries etc, since I don't think the script is actively maintained. You have to have mingw installed to build gimp, rather than VS. See http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/GetMingwBatch, which is a batch script to download and install mingw, as well as some supporting libraries etc (like perl and msys).
