GIMP reports XCF size in EBs

GIMP reports XCF size in EBs
Not sure if this is a bug or what is going on, but I have a 20,000x20,000 XCF image which I have been mapping Minecraft and my transit system of rails on a public server I am on. For some reason in the status bar, the file shows it's size as "18.4 EB". How is this even possible? I only have 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of hard disk space.
