GImp text is pixelated

Hi there I am trying to work with a font I downloaded, I have increased the hinting, and still nothing and I am really loving the font, I even tried using font size 24 & zoomed in and grose, I then tried again in a small font and tried scaling it and grose. Also the menu options are so tiny, I literally cant work out how to make it bigger, I can make the window panel fit screen size but the options are still like micro dots,

can anyone pllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssseeeeeeeee help me!?!??
