Save "Show Grid" and "Snap to Grid" settings?

Save "Show Grid" and "Snap to Grid" settings?
Each .xcf file saves the grid configuration for that particular image.
But, as far as I can see, the "Show Grid" and "Snap to Grid" settings are not saved and always default to off.
It would be nice if I didn't have to turn them on each time I open the .xcf file.
Is there a way to do this?
