This discussion is connected to the gegl-developer-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.

This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

Hi
What needs to be done before Gegl has a chance of being incorporated into Gimp? I'm seriously considering replicating cinepaints (Film Gimp) efforts. While Cinepaint is based on Gimp1.2, I would base mine on the latest Gimp.

Yes, I realize that would be insane but if Gegl is never going to make it in, my only other option is CinePaint or Glagow (ugh .. based on FLTK? Huh?)

The major obstacle at this point is the pending GIMP 2.4 release. As soon as that is out, we will start porting parts of the GIMP core to GEGL.
