btw: http://www.gimpusers.com/polls shows all active polls - you should be able to vote at least on 2 of these 3 polls, because I see that you voted for one poll already (shows the statistics in you profile)

maybe you voted already a month ago or so. or you're in a network and your IP is locked because another guy has the same IP as you and has voted.

Why is it I always see the poll after the fact, and can never vote on it? It shows as active but no link takes me to the actual poll vote. What gives?

Of course I have I'm using 2.7.1 on Ubuntu 10.10, well was computer is broke right now, bringing it to the shop tomorrow, can't fix the boot problem, or the cd drive, but yeah of course I've used it, that way I know what to expect from 2.8, and how to use, and navigate threw it. I'm always gonna be in love with the Gimp. It works, and does exactly what I want it to, and it's no doubt the best free image editor, and photoshop alternative out there on the web today. You can't ask for anything closer, plus it's free, open source, and cross platform. So there's really nothing to dislike about it, even the GUI is customizable.

If it ever comes out!!. Would prefer 16bit and over color support vs new transformation tool. As an Astrophotgrapher color support is way more useful!. HDR tools would be nice as well.
