The ability to lock layers would make Gimp more tolerable. Other than that AWESOME!

I would like to see:

adjustment layers
far improved printing support
all of the clone tools and photo touchup tools that photoshop has.
downloadable documentation that is up to date
a built-in browser and organizer for photos like LightRoom
Ability to read and write all photoshop files
better algorithms

I would like to have a complete drawing toolbox, which alows me to paint lines, polilines, etc, and not just the pencil with brushes. Does any one know if this already exists, and please tell me where to find it

I voted for layer effects thinking it means, as in Pbhotoshop, being able to apply effects in text or graphics that are dynamic. If you write a word and apply a drop shadow, and then change the word, the shadow adjusts to the new word an so on for glows, outlines, bevels, etc.

I'd like to see more compatibility with After Effects. Obviously Gimp isn't going to be a replacement, but if it could produce the same 3D mapped environments as PhotoShopp and other Adobe Products, it'd help with some of my AE projects. I already use Gimp for ease of producing paths based on images.

Apply effects in an image preview before apply in a final image.

I would like to see a content sensitive right click Instead of a full menu when the right mouse button is pressed,(options depend on what tool is being used)
