We’ve launched two new concurrent contests recently.

While you’re encouraged to touch up up your photos using simple editing tools in GIMP and show them to other in a before-after style the other contest is more aimed on creativity. It requires a little more experience with GIMP. In this contest your task is to create a space scene with GIMP, where the focus is set on planets, asteroids and other stuff from outer space.

More information on our contests can be found in the right column while they’re active!

Besides that we’ve also launched two new polls which are aimed on desktop and mobile operating systems!

We hope you’re enjoying your time on gimpusers.com and are curious about your contests submissions :) Have fun!

Just created this one using the new Python Symmetric Tile plugin and Mathmap along with Supernova and a star creation Script-fu. Now for the back story.

Scaffolding for the Dyson Sphere

As a society from a distance solar system from a galaxy far far away try to save there civilization by harnessing as much energy from their red-shifted star, they had to abandon their effort since their "sun" became too unstable. :)

Forgot to mention the title of my render. It's called Diamond World just outside the Crystalline Galaxy. :)

This is one of my rather lame efforts with a space theme. The USS Daedalus from Stargate, making a landing in Sydney Lol.

I did this one a few months ago. Not officially entering but just wanted to share. I call it Bubble Space. :)
