eps picture editing

Hello everyone

I wanted to know how can I edit eps pictures with text on it ,i can open the picture in my gimp version 2.8 but is there anyway to edit the picture and show it in layers.

Please use Inkscape instead of GIMP.

While itnis possible to use GIMP for what you want, it's not the best choice.

Gimp may not be the right tools for this. Inkscape is likely better suited. LibreOffice writer will also load EPS file and could be your best choice since you only deal with text.
