I am a new user at editing templates. A designer recommended Gimp. I downloaded it howerer when I go in to (Text) to edit a llayer it says Microsoft has encountered a problem , send or not send. Either way it shuts Gimp down.

I would love to use the program. Sincerely,

Where specifically did you download gimp from? http://www.gimp.org/windows/? I assume you installed the GTK+ package as well? http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

Do other functions within gimp work? Does it only crash when you try to add text? If so perhaps there is a font problem of some sort.

Sorry, not much help - just some guesses of what may be happening.
