Gimp 2.8.22

Although I've had GIMP for some time (version 2.8.14) I haven't used it much. That situation is likely to change very soon. I also haven't used the GIMP forums much either so even though I've had GIMP for some time, I'm basically a newbie. All that aside, I recently downloaded 2.8.22, but haven't installed it yet. Have some questions. Looked in the FAQ's, couldn't find the answers there so I decided to ask here.

Question 1; Is 2.8.22 compatible with 32bit Windows XP and 64bit Windows10 ?

Question 2; Does 2.8.22 install as a completely separate installation, having nothing to do with 2.8.14 ? In other words can 2.8.14 and 2.8.22 live peacefully together on the same hard drive without getting in each others way ? (I'd only have one or the other open at time)

Thankyou....Izzy

Yes, The Gimp installer contains files for both 32 bit and 64 bit versions and installs the appropriate 'flavour'. WinXP needs to be SP3 (almost a certainty these days)

No, Gimp 2.8.22 will replace your older version. What does remain is your Gimp profile C:\Users\your-name\.gimp-2.8\ where (hopefully) you have all your extra scripts / plugins / fonts / brushes ...
