this image was completely done with gimp+blender http://lmuse.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Splashscreen

i also used some ttf's from the net which were free for this purpose ;-) i just wanted to thank the gimp guys for that excellent work. i didn't have any crash trough all the making process. The mascot was done with blender, this was the tricky part because we had ten versions of the mascot and always had to change everything.
i used about 20++ layers ;-)
not even one crash - man you should have seen this!

Very nice looking splash screen - albeit a bit confusing for my eyes.
