How do you remove guides in gimp-2.0?

I'm able to use guides to help with selections,etc., and I can hide the guides but I want to remove the guides like in gimp 1.2.x.

Is this possible?

Yes, it works exactly as in 1.2. You pick the guide with the move tool and move it back on a ruler.

If you can not it's probably because the Move tool is in "Move the current layer" mode. Check the Move tool options.
