Gimp 2.8 Help has been downloaded & installed but Gimp cannnot find it

Platform: PC
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

I have downloaded the Help for Gimp 2.8 (en-GB) and it installed itself to: c:\program files\GIMP 2\Share\gimp\2.0\help\en_GB, which I presume is correct?
However, Gimp keeps telling me that "help is not installed on this computer".
I have tried copying the Help structure to higher level folders without success, even to the corresponding location below c:\program files (x86)\...

So if anyone knows what is happening here, I'd be grateful for the work-around.

Thank you!

The only question I have (I do not have Windows 7) is: are you sure of the GIMP installation directory? In Windows XP it works well.

Eventually try changing in the preferences the language and set it not automatic but english british...

Report if it worked...

Try renaming en_GB to en in your help install folder. That worked for me.

I have win7 64bit in en_CA locale. I couldn't get Gimp to recognize en_GB folder. I changed system locale to UK, default location to UK, language to English(United Kingdom) but still no luck. When Gimp starts for me, it's automatically set to system language for UI settings, so I thought that should help with the help system. I don't have en_UK or en_GB in the UI language selection in my installation, only en_US. Setting LANG (or LANGUAGE) system variable to en_GB (from the Manual) didn't work either.

nice to know a workaround...

Ok I do not think you had to do it anyway...

When Gimp starts for me, it's
automatically set to system language for UI settings,

Yes but if I do:

Edit->Preferences->Interface->Language->

I see: English[en_GB]
