Hello Friends,

I think there is a facility in Photoshop which is called Feather, Sorry but I do not use Photoshop, I only saw someone using it.

What would the similar feature be in Gimp It is used to make the edges of part of a layer to alpha so that the below image become visible, (visually merge with the below layer)

You can feather any selection in GIMP. Feel free to read the manual at http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-concepts-selection.html and give it a try.
