How can I get the gimp2.2.10 to change the location of where it saves thumbnails?
Thanks,

You can't. Thumbnails are handled according to the Thumbnail Managing Standard (http://jens.triq.net/thumbnail-spec/). If there's a good reason to allow changing the location of the thumbnail folder, you might want to get in contact with the authors of the spec and suggest a change.

He could make .thumbnails a symlink to a different location.
