convert PDF to TIFF

Why doesn't The GIMP does save each layer as a separate TIFF (in the same file).
I am trying to convert a multiple page PDF to a single TIFF.

I can open it in The GIMP as separate layers.

Because no one added support for multipage TIFF files to the TIFF save plug-in yet. Perhaps you want to contribute the code for this? Have a look at our bug-tracker. If I remember correctly there is an enhancement request for this already.

How do I find out if someone is already working on this? Loading is bug 335959.
I *might* try my hand at saving. :-)

If there's no bug report for it with comments that clearly indicate that someone is working on it, then you can safely assume that no one is.
