Newbie - Impressionist processing

Hi I am a really new Gimp user. I have found the Artistic Filter - Gimp Impressionist. I am interested in using this filter to convert photos into painting like prints. Can some one give me a step by step process to do this?

Much obliged.

If you're really new, read this first: http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html

Gimpressionist plug-in is try&see one. Preview is available there.
