"paste into" and transformations

Hello all,

I have been trying to "paste into" a selection which has had a transformation (shear) applied to it. Doesn't seem to work. Pasting into a plain rectangle works fine.

What I wanted to achieve was several pictures joined together but instead of vertical joins have 45 degree slants.

Any ideas?

PS tried the archives but the search facility seems to be down at the moment.

Just found the answer myself!

The shear transform has an option to "Affect - Transform Selection" rather than the default "Affect - Transform Layer" if this is selected when creating the transform you can paste into it.

Sorry for the unnecessary noise.
