Color problem

Using GIMP 2.10.4
Windows 10

I want to make a duplicate of a drawing and change the colors. I used to just copy the original and paste as a new image. Then I would color the new image.

But with 2.10.4, I copy the original image and paste as a new image, but cannot paint the new image the color I want. The color always comes out to be something completely different, many times just black.

Is your pasted image in indexed color? On Sat, Aug 4, 2018 at 2:35 PM james81 wrote:

Is your pasted image in indexed color?

Well, I don't have a clue as to what happened but I can now duplicate and recolor with no problems. Thanks for the reply.
