Q3 - How to select an area with lines, or curves ?

Hi !

In Photoshop I simply do it. It have both functions. I can select an triangle area.
But In GIMP I see only box/circle, and by hand select.

Where I find another way ?

use the path tool, set three points and then at the lower portion of the path dialog is a path to selection button. use that.

or paint a triangle using quickmask.
