Tablet Lagging badly

I cannot figure out why my tablet is lagging so bad. It makes it impossible to do even the most basic actions like drawing a line. This is only happening in gimp 2.8. I have to use 2.6 in order for it to work properly. How can I get this to stop lagging in 2.8?

I have a Huion 420 tablet. Currently have gimp 2.6
On windows 7
