Thanks for pointing this article out. I missed it completely.

Rowe and his gang have done super work on this project. The really cool part of this story will be in say a year, when the talk about Hollywood's use of Linux is not simply as an OS for rendering, but for actual client-based work. CinePaint and GIMP are leading the way!
