warping an image

Hello all,

I need to warp an image onto a balloon shape to make it look more 3D. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this ?

Did you try the MapObject plug-in yet? It's found in the Filters->Map menu. MapObject allows you to map the image onto a number of simple shapes. Spheres are of course among these.
