Gimp for photographers

Hey Guys!

Regarding my recent posts about some gimp (IMHO) missing features.

Most image processing tool which are used by amateurs have XY control points (e.g. Jasc Paint Shop Pro). If you don't want to redesign Curves Dialog for eye droppers then just add XY controls.

In our daily practice we scan, shoot unbalanced photos that need correction by LUTs. Having a XY control points we can do this very quickly. Most image manipulation software using 16 control points but this is not required.

I don't think that this is time consuming feature. Also it's simple to add white point balancing using Linear Scale Factor algorithms (Multiplication).

Shall we propose the algorithms?

Could you please elaborate what XY controls would mean. Perhaps you can provide a screenshot or describe the workflow involved since I'm not sure if I understand what you are talking about.

Salut, Sven
