Suggestion on Incorrect info on source web page

This discussion is connected to the gimp-web-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.

This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

Suggestion on Incorrect info on source web page

Hi,

The page by Martin Nordholts (gimp-git-build.html), which I arrived at by:

https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ => => https://www.gimp.org/source/
=> https://www.gimp.org/source/#gimp-from-git => https://www.gimp.org/source/howtos/gimp-git-build.html

provides what appears to be outdated instructions on how to build gimp via git:

*git clone git://git.gnome.org/gimp *

$ git clone git://git.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp Cloning into 'gimp'...
fatal: unable to connect to git.gnome.org: git.gnome.org[0: 209.132.180.180]: errno=No route to host git.gnome.org[1: 209.132.180.168]: errno=No route to host

Some digging around led me to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp

*$ git clone https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp.git *

Unless the above information is incorrect may I suggest updating https://www.gimp.org/source/#gimp-from-git with the correct git clone link

Thanks,

Robert
