gimp-tool-align

I have an question to the documentation for the align-tool.

The documentation indents "Relative to:" suggesting it would only apply to align and not to distribute but I seem to experience it otherwise, what is right here?

Under "distribute" it's stated, that "these options seem to", but there is not "but" as I would expect it. Or are the documenters just not sure about the functionality?

Is there - hence - no difference between align and distribute when the offset is set to zero?

Is it possible to align the left edge of one layer/selection/etc. to the right edge of my selected layer?

As much as I adore this tool, as much does it stay mysterious.
