Screen help

I have just downloaded gimp 2.8.2 I am new to any sort of image programme, but understand gimp is especially good. My question is hopefully easy to answer - I have the programme itself, but there is no 'help' - is there a separate download for this that fits directly to the main programme? If so, can you advise me a link to access the download. I was expecting to find general help as well as specific help linked to each tool. Thanks in advance.

Here is the link for the UK English user manual from the downloads page:
