Hi all
I use the cygwin in Windows XP Pro SP2 for compiling gimp manual. in past days, I compiled in Ubuntu in VMware.

you know VMware is very slow, and because my computer isn't good, that was too hard
Thus I thanked Jan Smith who comtributed cygwin guide for gimp-compile.

But, there are some problems. This is the error message.

I/O error : Attempt to load network entity http://www.oasis-open-org/docbook/xml/4.3/../src/bibliography/bibliogrphy.xml:4: warning: failed to load external entity "http://www.docbook.org/xml/4.3/docbookx.dtd" 'http://www.docbook.org/xml/4.5/docbookx.dtd'>

Of couse I installed docbook 4.3 as following the guide. and my office connect in Internet always.

What's the matter? what do I need? some package missing?

BTW in interesting, there is the message "Validating XML for ko number of errors : 0"

please, help me. should I do something, or ignore these errors?

Thats a problem of a missing catalog entry. The xml catalog on your machine isn't correctly setup and the processor can't use the stylesheets (thats also a reason why you're getting 0 errors when validating).

Have you added the line starting with:

to your xml catalog?

my catalog file contains below

<!DOCTYPE catalog PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD Entity Resolution XML Catalog V1.0//EN" "http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/release/1.0/catalog.dtd">


Is it wrong?
what should I fix?
I tried to change rewritePrefix path,, but there was the same errors.

You need to add:

(thats from slide 22 of the flash file from http://docs.gimp.org/Layout/sandboxWindows.swf).

That should do the trick.
