error in png files?

error in png files?

Unable to open some png files.

Some of the CVS image files can not be opened in my version of the Gimp or in other image processing programs as PhotoShop, PSP etc. They all (the programs) told me that the files had "No valid png format" or something similar. Browsing through the CVS image maps with the Gimp I found 31 "corrupted" png files, all dated 2005.08.12, 2005.08.24, or 2005.09.20.

I'm writing "corrupted" because I do not know the reason. May be I'm outdated on newer versions of png, or there are some other reasons for this malfunction.

I'm using the Gimp v. 2.2.7 for Windows (XP)

Huh?? I didn't commit them. And btw. they seem to work for me even if loaded from the website where they were copied to from cvs by a different person / way - My guess is these files are fine - don't they work for you?

It might be my fault, that I forgott a -kb option during checking. I wonder though, most of the files were not changed and still the first version.

I hope I fixed the problem now. Added the binary flag to the reported images.

It doesn't matter whether they were changed or not - on platforms that make a difference between binary and text files, they break (usually at the first EOL :)
