2.9.1 is a development version thats pretty slow and buggy. the latest stable version is GIMP 2.8.2.

normally you can move all windows by keyboard too, instead of the mouse. you ALT+TAB to select GIMP when it's open, then press ALT+SPACE to open the context menu. then use thge arrow keys to go to the option "move" (must be 2nd or 3rd i think). press ENTER and then move the window with arrow keys back to the right.

alternatively you can try to delete the complete ".gimp-2.8" or ".gimp-2.9" folder found under "c://Documents & Settings/"

Oh, I see. There is no .deb of 2.9 yet for simple install...

Thanks, but that's why I was asking. To see if there was a .deb already built. I compiled 2.7, so that's not a big deal. Was just hoping not to have to is all.

You need to compile it yourself on linux unless there is package for you distribution. Our article could help: http://www.gimpusers.com/tutorials/compiling-gimp-for-ubuntu

It should also work for GIMP 2.9.

Is there a linux build anywhere? I just did a search for one, but couldn't find anything. The Windows article you linked to infers there is one (i.e.: Why should linux people have all the fun?...)
