GIMP IS GREATER FOR SUCH JOBS.GREAT PROGRAM TO HAVE......I LOVE GIMP...I USE GIMP 2.6.

Gimp is as good as any vector tool. When you build something in GIMP, make it 4 times larger, then save the file as a .bmp or.png. Open that saved picture again in GIMP and reduce it to the one-quarter size. You can't tell the difference! Anyway, most vector pictures have to be converted into rastors anyways. Another thing, vector is only good for BIG in order to lose the jagged pixel edges. But that's only if someone id viewing your website at the Cinema.

There isn't a vector illustration out there I can't mimic in GIMP!

I love gimp. absolutely. Can't wait for 2.8 release. I used to be a heavy adobe master collection user - but that is just such a bloatware! Switched to inkscape and gimp and never looked back. Developers thank u very much.
