Registry Site Help
Hello,
The site registry.gimp.org has a splash asking for help implementing a more secure solution. I hav experience running web applications, configuring HTTPS and a little experience doing web development. I don’t see any recent threads on this, I would be very interested in volunteering for such a project. I look forward to hearing back, thanks!

Hello Dan,
We have been thinking about what the best way forward might be for the registry.
What were you thinking?

Registry Site Help
Hi Pat,
Sorry for the delay in reply; I did not have any specific implementation in mind as I do not actually have much experience organizing/running these types of projects. I have done a bit of programming on my own in a handful of languages (PHP, Perl, HTMl/JS, C#, Java) but not much beyond small proof of concept and exercise type projects. In order to get some practical experience I wanted to work with other folks who perhaps have a project already and need assistance coding which is why I had offered. I am still interested, looking forward to hearing back.
Thanks,
Dan

Registry Site Help
Hi Dan!
I would perhaps try joining us on IRC in #GIMP (on GIMPNet, not freenode). In particular I would try to talk to Jehan Pages - he is the one currently driving the development of an "Extensions" manager for GIMP that will ultimately replace the functionality most people were looking for in the registry (but integrated into GIMP).
If you wanted to focus on web work, Jehan is going to need a web interface created at some point, and I'm happy to work with others on this to make it a reality.
