Problems downloading to iMac using Siera

This discussion is connected to the gimp-user-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.

This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

Problems downloading to iMac using Siera

Can you help me? I get this:

“GIMP” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the App Store and identified developers.

“GIMP” is on the disk image “gimp-2.8.22-x86_64.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 22:56 from www.gimp.org.

Any time that you get a message like that, go to

Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General

Then look for a new button in this General pane that will enable you to launch Gimp anyway (or any other program that does this do you).
