text path exporting, don't know why

Hi all,

I've got a really weird problem going on. I've got a design that involved text wrapping, which I did using the Davies Media Design tutorial (https://daviesmediadesign.com/wrap-text-around-a-circle-in-gimp-2-10/). As in the tutorial, I have text on both the top and bottom of the circle, so I ended creating two circle paths and two text paths.

The wrapping worked fine. The problem came when I exported the image. For some reason, one of the text paths shows up in the finished product despite being hidden in the paths menu. It still showed even after I deleted it. I tried every variable I could think of: layers combined, layers left individual, just that path deleted, all paths deleted, jpg instead of png--it shows up every time (although it's fainter in the jpg than the png). And it's always just that one text path, never the other or either of the circles.

In desperation, I rewrapped the text layer using a brand new path and got it exactly on top of the original, then deleted the original path and wrapped layer. Still showed up.

I can't think of anything else to try. Nothing about this makes sense--how can the pathh show after it's been deleted? I really, really, really don't want to start from scratch. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

Super thankful for any help. Let me know if you need me to post images
