Automatic image levelling

There's a neat trick in Photoshop where you can easily correct for images which are not vertical or horizontal. If you draw a line using the measure tool along an element which should be horizontal (or vertical) and then go to Image rotation / arbitrary, the layer is rotated to make the measure tool line vertical or horizontal (whichever is the nearest).

I use this all the time to correct for shots which have been taken on the skew.

Can anyone tell me if there is an equivalent in Gimp?

Thanks

Chris

Yes. Use the measure tool, draw in along what needs to be vertical (or horizontal)

Apply 'Straighten' in the tool options.
