When I print something, I see it land in the printer queue, and I see the blue light blinking on my Canon Pro9500 Mark II printer. After a while, gimp says that printing has completed, but nothing ever comes out of the printer.
I can print a test page from the Ubuntu driver, so this looks like a gimp/gutenprint problem.

I gave up with the flatpak Gimp, great if you just want a vanilla Gimp, but since it is 'sandboxed' too much hassle importing files from outside 'home' and side loading library files for plugins like gimp-gutenprint. Never got xsane to work for a scanner, too many dependencies. Not sure I got anything to print either. Kept an old regular gimp as a work-around.
However, light flashing on your printer, so it is receiving data, but no print output. When that happens to me, it is a file stuck in the print queue preventing any subsequent file(s) to print.
What does http://localhost:631/jobs?which_jobs=all show ?

I see the file in the print queue while the printer receives data, then the printer light stops flashing, and the printer queue is empty. It's as if it thinks something printed. Subsequent files print.
I'll ditch flatpak gimp.
