Tool Options Position

The Tools Options window appears in the right-side GIMP window.

How do I get it to the left-side GIMP window and under the tools select?

Various ways,

You can always go back to default values Edit -> Preferences -> Window Management and click Reset Windows to Default Values. Ok that, restart Gimp.

Click and Drag the tab from one dock to another dock

Use the little left pointing arrows in the dock. Close on one side, Add on the other.

Thanks for the reply, but that didn't work. I even deleted GIMP from my machine and downloaded and installed it again. Whe I select a tool, the options show up on the right-hand window.

Sorry but it does work. It has been working that way since Gimp 2.8 introduced single window mode.

I do not know why Windows users insist on re-installing at the drop of a hat. All the Gimp settings are held in a 'Gimp Profile' that is created first time Gimp is run. Hence not part of the install process. Keeps the settings you originally had.

What you can do.

Go to C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\ and delete the 2.10 folder

Start Gimp and it creates a new default Gimp profile, with all the tabs in the default positions.
