Newbie can't exit "Curves"

Hi folks, I am fairly new to Gimp, and still transitioning from PSE! I'm using Gimp on my Linux Machine running Arch Linux that doesn't mean I'm brilliant at Linux, I've cheated, ...using the Anarchy Installer!

My problem is that having used "Curves" to adjust the colour of a layer, I find that now every time I click on the picture to do other things, up pops the curves window!

I have tried everything I can think of to get out of this but it keeps coming back! ...Help!

Gimp does not have a neutral tool, you are always in the last used. Change to some other tool.

The measure tool Shift - M is one that will not do any damage, until you get to grips with Gimp (give yourself a couple of years)

Lol I admire your faith in my capacity to learn! Just spent the last two hours attempting to rid myself of "curves" seemingly stuck to my fingers only to end up with another dratted tool stuck like an old sweetie wrapper! :)

Much appreciate the tip to use the measurement tool, I do miss the "hand" tool in PSE!
