Hey guys!

I am brand spanking new to gimp. I have figured out how to cut and image and have done it several times. There is a frustration that I've run across...some of the time the points will connect themselves. How do I A. prevent this from happening
B. undo just the connection

When I hit undo it keeps a newer selection and undoes the rest of the work.

Thanks in adcance!

Hit the enter key and a selection will close from last node to first node.

The advice at the botom of the gimp window is

Return commits, Escape cancels, Backspace removes last segment

Of course if you only have one segment - first node to wherever you are drawing - escape and backspace are the same.

You can modify a selection using the Free select tool modes. Enter to close a selection then change mode to add or subtract from that. A better way is use of the quick mask to add or modify a selection.

I did a series of short videos on selection tools, try the second on on this page

Nice reply! But your video is more understandable. if you just share the video then that will do the work too. Great video.

I see anything similar at https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2011/aug/12/late-night-gimp-fight-review that is the great description of the program. So I want to know more about the work of it.
